Firefighters’ Parade
Friday, May 3 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
$4-5Watch the entire broadcast of the Firefighers’ Parade, and additional footage on our Videos page!
Coordinated by members of the Winchester and Frederick County firefighters for the 85th year, the Firefighters’ Parade will step off at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 5th. No parade was held from 1942 to 1945 during the war.
The first Torchlight and Mummers’ Parade in 1929 stepped off at 8 p.m. with each of the Winchester fire departments participating. Each firefighter carried a flaming torch. From this humble beginning, it is now the largest and one of the oldest annual firefighters’ parades in the world.
