Six-time World Champion Wrestler and Olympic Gold Medalist, Jordan Burroughs to Serve as Sports Guest

Jeremy Luttrell, president of the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival® is pleased to announce Jordan Burroughs will be a guest speaker at the Partlow Insurance Sports Breakfast on Saturday, May 2, at 9 a.m. The Breakfast will be held in the Tolley Dental Zone at the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center on the campus of Shenandoah University.  Burroughs will be riding in the Hang 10 Firefighters’ Parade on Friday, May 1 at 6:00 p.m. and the Glo Fiber Grand Feature Parade on Saturday, May 2, which kicks off at 1:30 p.m.

As a six-time World Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist, Jordan Burroughs is the most decorated freestyle wrestler in American history.  Originally from Sicklerville, New Jersey, Burroughs rose to national prominence at the University of Nebraska, where he captured two NCAA Division I national titles and won the Hodge Trophy in 2011.

Post college, Burroughs represented Team USA on the world stage from 2011 until 2024, making two Olympic teams and 10 world teams, and accumulating 10 world and Olympic medals.

Beyond competition, Jordan Burroughs is deeply committed to growing the sport of wrestling and mentoring the next generation of athletes. He is the founder and head coach of the All I See is Gold Academy in Merchantville, New Jersey. The Academy is a training center built on the principles that defined his own career: discipline, character, accountability, and the pursuit of excellence. Through camps, clinics, and ongoing athlete development, the academy emphasizes not only technical mastery, but also mindset, leadership, and personal growth.

Burroughs is also a public speaker, sharing his story with audiences ranging from youth athletes and coaches to corporate teams and leadership organizations. His talks focus on discipline, hard work, overcoming adversity, and performing under pressure — lessons drawn directly from his experiences competing at the highest levels of sport.

Off the mat, Jordan is a devoted husband to his wife Lauren and father of five -- Beacon (11), Ora (9), Rise (6), Banner (4) and Badge (2). Family is a central part of his life and values, and he frequently speaks about the importance of faith, balance, and surrounding yourself with the right people.

Jordan Burroughs’ journey is more than a list of wrestling matches and medals. It is a story of consistency, character, and commitment to your craft— proving that true champions are built not just by what they win, but by how they lead, serve, and inspire others along the way.
