Melanie Miller (Vocal/Piano) – Melanie Miller is a 16 year old aspiring musician, who has practiced the art of piano and singing since she was a child. During her concurrent as a junior in high school and a college freshman, Melanie has strived to tend to her passion for music in any way that she can. In her first semester at Lord Fairfax Community College, Melanie participated in the college’s annual fall talent show “LFCC’s Got Talent”. By combining two songs, A Great Big World’s “Say Something” and Sam Smith’s “Not In That Way”, she created a mash-up, which won her second place. Following that, she was asked to sing again for a faculty dinner. This introduced the idea of passion with a paycheck.
Inspired by her supportive friends and family, she developed the courage to put her name into the public. In so doing, she was given the opportunity to performed in various locations, and later received a permanent job as an entertainer for the Bogati Bodega Winery in Round Hill, Virginia, where she performs the first Friday of every month from 6 to 9. Through hard work, determination, and massive amounts of support, Melanie was able to take something that was once her passion behind closed doors, and turn it into an event that is shared with the public.
