Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival® President, Barry Carper, is deeply honored to welcome Janet Parshall to the Land of Pink and Green to serve as the Featured Speaker at the 2019 Prayer Brunch Presented by Knouse Foods/Musselman. Janet follows in the footsteps of a long line of uplifting spiritually-devoted speakers; and, she is deeply honored to be asked to address this particular Prayer Brunch, having been told this is the 20th Anniversary of this spectacularly successful event; and, sold out, as it will be, for the 20th straight year.
Janet Parshall is a nationally syndicated radio talk show host known for the Christian program In the Market with Janet Parshall, which is broadcast on the Moody Radio network on over 700 stations. This show replaced her previous show on the Moody Radio Network called Talking it Over. Prior to coming to Moody Broadcasting, Parshall had hosted a nationally syndicated program on the Salem Radio Network. Janet Parshall has been consistently profiled as one of the Top 100 “talkers” in “Talkers Magazine,” the leading trade publication of the talk industry. In 2008 and in 2011, Janet was awarded the National Religious Broadcasters On-Air Personality of the Year award. During her career, Janet has served on the boards of several organizations including Concerned Women for America and the National Religious Broadcasters. She is the recipient of the Excellence in Communications award from “Women in Christian Media.” Janet was also elected to Sigma Delta Omega for high attainments in the field of broadcasting. Throughout her career, Janet has been a devoted advocate of the principles that strengthen the family. In February 2005, Parshall was selected by President George W. Bush to represent the White House as public delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.
As a radio and television commentator, author and advocate for the family, Janet speaks nationwide on public policy issues that impact family preservation and promotion. She has appeared on numerous national television and radio programs, including Crossfire, Hardball, Nightline, Larry King Live, Donahue, The 700 Club, Hannity & Colmes and NewsNight with Aaron Brown, and has also appeared on various other programs on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, CBN, PBS, the BBC and NPR. Janet has also been featured in People magazine. She was the host for the 2004 documentary, George W. Bush: Faith in the White House. Parshall hosted the TV documentary series Speechless: Silencing the Christians, which aired on the Inspiration Network and other religious stations in 2008. Parshall also hosted a television program called Janet Parshall’s America on Family Netin 2004. She serves on the Board of Directors and served on the Executive Committee of the National Religious Broadcasters. Parshall has authored several books, including her latest: “Buyer Beware: Finding Truth in the Marketplace of Ideas.” Janet and her husband, Craig, live in Virginia, and have four children and six grandchildren. In recent years, Festival Organizers have taken great pains to announce that Festival tickets go on sale the day after the Annual Theme Announcement, which is held on the evening of the second Wednesday in November. For this Festival, tickets went on sale on Thursday, November 15th, 2018. In acknowledgement of 21st century sensibilities, the Festival now sells many of its tickets through on-line means. The pre-sale allotment of tickets for the Prayer Brunch sold out in January 2019. The remaining Prayer Brunch tickets, held back for the opening of the Souvenir Store, will go on sale at 1849 South Pleasant Valley Road at 10:00am on Friday, April 5th. For the Prayer Brunch, there will be a limit of 4 tickets per customer for the remaining tickets.
