Four young women from the Winchester area have been selected to serve as Maids of the Court of Queen Shenandoah XCII during the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, April 26th through May 5th, 2019. The Maids are Emma Robey Kee, Lily Keniford Kimble, Shelby Lynn Rhodes, and Elise DeHaven Smith.
Emma Kee is the daughter of Trone and David Kee of Winchester, VA. She is the granddaughter of Kay and Murrell Bolliger of Winchester, Brenda and Jim Kidd of Harrisonburg, VA, and Sandy and Doug Kee of Elkton, VA. Emma is a freshman at Shenandoah University majoring in Elementary Education. She is a member of the Student Virginia Education Association and th,e Student Investment Club. Emma is a 2018 graduate of John Handley High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society, a Handley Scholar, member ofDECA, and earned a letter as manager for the varsity wrestling team. Emma’s mother, Trone Bolliger Kee was Maid of Honor to Queen LVIII, Miss Lucinda Desha Robb. Her grandmother, Kay Bolliger, was the Festival President in 2003 and 2004.
Lily Kimble is the daughter of Tress and Ron Kimble of Winchester. She is the granddaughter of Kay and Murrell Bolliger of Winchester and Cathy and Ronne) Kimble of Linville, VA. Lily is a senior at James Wood High School. She is an all A Honor Roll student, a member of the Leo Club, and the National Honor Society, serving as secretary. She is a member of the Varsity Tennis team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Varsity Club, and received the James Wood High School Tennis MVP award. Lily is also active with her church youth group. Lily’s mother, Tress Bolliger Kimble was a Little Maid in the court of Queen Shenandoah L, Miss Laury Boone, and Maid of Honor to Queen Shenandoah LXI, Miss Mary Clancey Collins. Her grandmother, Kay Bolliger was the Festival President in 2003 and 2004.
Shelby Rhodes is the daughter of Tonya Rhodes and Scott Rhodes, both of Winchester. She is the granddaughter of Nancy and Steve Shatzer of Winchester, Susan and Douglas Clark of Gore, VA, and Judy and Richard Rhodes of Millersville, MD. Shelby is a freshman at Lord Fairfax Community College majoring in General Studies. Shelby is a 2018 graduate of John Handley High School. She was a four year varsity letter recipient for Cheerleading, 2016-2018 Judges Athletic Association Outstanding Athlete of the Year, JHHS Cheer volunteer, and a volunteer for Project Hope.
Elise Smith is the daughter of Kaye and Gerald (JJ) Smith, Jr. of Winchester. She is the granddaughter of Pauline DeHaven and Delores Smith, both of Winchester, and the late L. Linwood DeHaven and Gerald F. Smith. Elise is a freshman at Clemson University majoring in Business and Nursing. She is a member of Alpha Phi sorority. She is a 2018 graduate of John Handley High School. She was a four year varsity letter recipient for Cross Country, as well as co-captain for two years. She was also a member of the National Honor Society, Handley Scholars, Senior Class Vice-president, and a track coach for the Special Olympics.
