Governor Terry McAuliffe announced that The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival® received $25,000 from the Virginia Tourism Corporation Marketing Leverage Program grant fund. In total VTC awarded more than $772,000 for 62 tourism marketing projects across the state to help increase visitation and revenue for Virginia’s localities through tourism.

Recognizing that many adults are now ending their work week on Festival Wednesday, Festival Organizers wanted to create an interestingly upscale food-themed event to fill this available slot in the schedule. The Festival’s answer has been to create the new USA Produce & Seafood Bloomtown Derby: A Wine and Food Experience.
Ten semi-finalists were selected, including: Tanya Dallas-Lewis, Grace Dennis, Baby Jackson, Ethan Locke, Kirsten Lyons, Madelyn Martin, Tom Parker, Jimmy Smith, the duo Platinum Hearts and a duo led by Jami Gilbert.

Festival Organizers are saddened and stunned that, in the same week we announced the appearance of country artist, Lauren Alaina, at the 2017 Country Music Party, we have been notified by her agents at the Nashville Office of Creative Artists Agency that she will not be able to keep that appearance date.
After a lengthy search, we were able to book the fabulous Pablo Antonio y La Firma to provide the super-hot Latin rhythms that will form the foundation of our must-see new event: “A Night in Havana!”. Pablo Antonio y La Firma is an 11-piece tropical Latin band based in Washington, D. C., renowned for its white-hot brass section.
