Festival Organizers continue to try to address the crush of events held on Festival Parade Weekend, the second weekend of the 10-day long Festival. In line with this, the very popular Sunrise Medical Laboratories Oldies Rock ‘n’ Roll Dance is moving from its traditional spot on the Saturday night of Festival Parade Weekend, to a new spot on the Saturday night of Wine Festival Weekend: Saturday, April 26.
The location will remain the same: the ballroom at the Winchester Moose Lodge on East Cork Street in Old Town; but, the new event times will be 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. (Doors open at 6 p.m.)
A fantastic new band has also been lined up to inaugurate the new proceedings: Rick K. and the Allnighters, a band with a national reputation on the Oldies Circuit. Rick K. will lead the crowd through the Fabulous ’50s, get groovy with the ’60s Explosion, then hustle into the ’70s.
In addition to their national tour schedule, Rick K. and the Mad Drummer, Steve Moore, have appeared internationally on Germany’s #1 late night talk show, “TV TOTAL with Stefan Raab,” and in Russia at The Philharmonic in Kursk City. Buckle up tight and enjoy an evening of rock ‘n’ roll oldies with this amazing group.
The Oldies Rock ‘n Roll Dance is sponsored by Sunrise Medical Laboratories and presented by Yesterday’s Cruisers.
Tickets to all Festival events are now on sale at “The Railroad District, 302 North Cameron Street” in Old Town Winchester, and many event tickets are available at the Official Online Store.
