Bobby Steelman: I was brought up in a musical household being saturated with bluegrass music from the age of 2. My father played guitar and my mother plays banjo. At 12 I took up the electric guitar. By the age of 17 I was playing in a metal band. By the age of 22 I was playing out just about every weekend. I had a great love for the music and the rush I got from performing. I did a short stint performing in Nashville at the age of 24. After moving back home I meet my wife. She is a vocalist and had been performing since the age of 5. She has been my biggest supporter and I thank God everyday for bringing us together. I convinced her to start playing the upright bass. She picked it up in no time. In 6 short months we had formed a bluegrass band. The band was together for 6 plus years. After taking a short break my best friend Ronnie Wolford asked me to join him and start playing again. Thus bringing me to the present and being the “Styles” of this duo. I love every minute of what we are doing and looking very forward to what the future holds for us. I am a very blessed man and thank God everyday for the ability he has blessed me with.
Ronnie Wolford: I started playing music when I was 7yrs old and was influenced by my uncle to play guitar. I always looked forward to going to his house on the weekends and having music sessions with him and my cousins. When I was young I always loved playing music and also knew I had a talent at singing but was always to shy to perform in front of people. As I got older and going to church on Sunday’s I started singing in the choir and eventually got up the nerve to sing in front of people. Ever since that moment I knew this is what God wanted me to do. I love the feeling I get when I know that what I am doing is touching someone in the audience.
So that brings me to now, the feeling I get when playing and singing has never changed. I always knew that I wanted to perform in a band and when my best friend Bobby Steelman became available I knew that it was my time… The rest is history, we started playing together and started Cross N Styles a year ago and it is best thing that has ever happened to me musically. We have a great friendship and we both know that family comes first but we both still have that same drive and I cannot wait to see what is in our future…….
